Could you be a Mentor?
A Good Mentor Will:
Be a sounding board to test ideas
Listen, listen and listen some more
Share experiences and learning in a positive way
Ask thoughtful and powerful questions
Provide support and encouragement
Could You Be A Mentor?
You will already be experienced in an advisory
or representative role, in work, as a volunteer
or as a member of an organisation. You will be
interested in supporting others to learn new skills,
develop their abilities and to become more effective
in their role.
Becoming A Mentor
We are offering a one-day Mentor Training Workshop,
delivered by a qualified and experienced trainer, where
you will learn the basic skills of Mentoring. You will
receive a pack of resources and information to keep
and have the opportunity to register as a Mentor with
the North West Mentoring Scheme.
If, after you have attended the workshop, you feel that
mentoring isn’t for you at this time, or that you would
first like to further develop your skills and access
support for your current role, there will also be the
opportunity to register with the scheme to be
allocated your own individual Mentor.
If you would like to know more, or register to attend a
local workshop, please contact us. Our contact details
are given on the back page of this leaflet.
